Canoë-Kayak

Pupils use 2 person canoes to travel along the river in la vallée de la Cure or for activities on a nearby lake if water levels are low. To lead this activity we use fully trained instructors from a local club, Avallon Morvan Canoë-Kayak (www.amck.org ) who are a member of La Fédération Française de Canoë-Kayak (www.ffck.org).

We ask that at least one member of the school staff who is a confident swimmer and kayaker joins one member of our staff to accompany this excursion to aid with translation, ensure appropriate behaviour and in case of an emergency. However, in terms of health and safety, AMCK are responsible for providing appropriately trained leaders and support staff to run the activity.

French law states that all pupils must be able to swim at least 25m in order to take part and we must have written consent from parents to confirm that this is the case.
