We would like to recommend the following French teaching resources that we have found useful ourselves in developing our educational provision.
http://www.french.about.com/ - FREE - This website has all kinds of tips and tools for French teachers including lessons, quizzes, classroom games, projects and inspiring ideas. I particularly like the explanations of French phrases and expressions such as ‘quand même’ and the WORD OF THE DAY, which could be useful for pupil projects or research.
http://www.frenchspanishonline.com - FREE - Another excellent website with some really clever interactive resources ideal for homeworks, independent extension tasks or computer room lessons. My favourite is Ratounet singing his French alphabet song.
http://www.frenchteacher.net and http://www.frenchteachernet.blogspot.com - FREE - Some useful resources and and interesting blog written for French teachers by the French department at Ripon Grammar school.
http://www.kloogame.com - MCF DISCOUNT AVAILABLE - Multi-award winning KLOO has turned learning a language into a game. Players make sentences and learn words in French to score points. The longer the sentence and the more words they learn, the faster they score. In this way, KLOO makes learning a language fast, easy and a lot of fun. You can try KLOO out when you come to visit and take advantage of a special discount for MCF schools.
http://www.theday.co.uk - MCF DISCOUNT AVAILABLE - The Day is an online news service for schools and colleges with a mission to ‘encourage teachers to get students engaging in the big ideas and events that shape our World.’ MCF has been helping to translate the articles and stories which are now available in French, German, Italian and Spanish.
