Windermere school trip day1 B
Windermere have arrived !
After a good nights sleep everyone started Monday morning with an exciting French lesson and French cooking ... making a French apple cake called  a 'Tartouillat'.
The teachers had the honour of sampling and judging the winners with two prizes : one for presentation and one for taste.
In the afternoon the sunshine came out just in time for our kayak on the beautiful river Cure. A great time was had by all, even those who had been rather apprehensive beforehand. There WERE a few spiders but they were pleased to discover they were nothing like as big as they had been led to believe by previous students!
In the evening some of us took part in the French Loto and others took on the puzzle challenge before heading off to bed for a much needed rest !
Day 2.
Today we headed off to the circus and also tried our hand at popping balloons at archery. In the evening we enjoyed a night out at a local restaurant.
The weather has been mixed but when the sun has been shining the children have really enjoyed playing football on the field or going on the swings. When it rains they can still play table football as it is under cover, so plenty to keep them busy.
More news and photos tomorrow !
Day 3.
Our Year 7s and 8s had an exhilarating day in France, starting with a captivating treasure hunt in Dijon. The winning group reveled in their victory, adding to the excitement. Later, we made history by breaking records in the puzzle competition, and concluded the day with a heartfelt celebration of Annie's birthday, creating cherished memories for all.
Day 4.
Today was yet another bustling day filled with activity. The morning buzzed with the creative energy of Year 7 and 8 students as they meticulously crafted their vibrant mosaics, each a testament to their ingenuity. As the day progressed into the afternoon, excitement soared to new heights as the students embarked on a thrilling tree-top adventure. Amidst the lush canopy, they navigated through an exhilarating series of suspended bridges, Tarzan swings, balance logs, cable traverses and mega-ziplines, each descent delivering a rush of adrenaline and a sense of boundless adventure.
Day 5
Our final day in France was bustling with activity from dawn till dusk. We kicked off the morning with a vibrant visit to the local market, where our students eagerly applied their newfound knowledge from French lessons to purchase ingredients for their lunches. With ingredients in hand, they seamlessly transitioned into teamwork mode, collaborating to craft visually stunning presentations that aimed to dazzle the discerning judges.
Escargot! The climax of the day arrived with the ultimate challenge: consuming escargot. The array of emotions captured in the pictures tells a tale of both trepidation and excitement.
