Yesterday we had to arrive at school at 6:30am to set off on a journey of a life time. This journey would be a 12 hour long drive with the occasional stop for fresh air and a break. On the bus people watched films, listened to music, slept and talked with friends. It wasn't a very lively atmosphere because everybody was so tired except the ones who drank lucozade! After this horribly long drive we finally arrived at Maison Claire Fontaine at around 7:00pm. We unpacked our gear in our new dorms and had our first dinner in France. For starter we had a salad, main course it was a personal favourite of many people: spag bol and finally for pudding we had a French fruit yogurt. After this we had a puzzle competition! This was a massive puzzle that had to be completed in the fastest time possible. Other schools had done this but Emily, Sally and Alysia recorded the fastest time yet!
On the first morning we woke up at 7:20am and had bread, cereal and jam or Nutella. Then we had 30 minutes free time before going to cook and learn some of the region’s specialities. We then went to get ready to go to Le Château de Bussy Rabutin. We took 1 hour to get there after admiring the tower with a massive crack in one of its towers. We got to the Château by walking through the gardens. The Château was massive and it took 1 hour to get round. We then went to the maze and did a relay involving 5 people remembering a question or fact about Le Château Bussy Rabutin. Once we memorised the question we went off into the maze to find the teachers to answer the question. We then went back to the coach and travelled back to have supper. We then got ready to play boules and the people with the highest played against each other to see who would win. Who would win?

Here I am on a lovely spring day not doing the archery because of my broken finger. However later on I'm going to be taught some wonderful French and hopefully I will learn some new words! Also we're going to the circus to see some amazing tricks being done and even to learn some! Later on this evening we are having a disco and we get to choose our own songs. I hope the circus and disco will be fun and who will be able to do the best tricks?

Yesterday, we all woke up looking forward to making mosaics. We learned all the steps (in French!) to make a perfect picture and got going. While this was going on, the other group were doing a French lesson, writing postcards to our families.
After lunch, we set off on the walk where we learned about lots of different things in French, such as the names of farm animals. After about an hour and a half walking, and a bit of "How much longer", we finally reached the site of the Easter egg hunt. Along the way, we had to find orienteering pouches, and inside was a question, in French, about the things we had learned about on the walk. After we found the answer, we ran on to the next checkpoint, and at five stops along the way, we had two minutes to find Easter eggs. At the end, we got to eat the eggs, and walked back to MCF feeling much better now that we had had some chocolate.
After a break, we got back in the coach to go to the restaurant. We had a cheesy bread for starter, chicken for main, and either a chocolate mousse or a fruit salad for dessert. After, we all walked back to the coach, feeling tired after such an exciting and busy day, but looking forward to the day ahead.

Incroyable ! What another fabulous week with Churcher's College and a week of record breaking. Congratulations to Alysia, Emily and Sally who smashed the MCF puzzle record with a time of 21 minutes and 55 seconds on the first night. Then along came Daisy and Pippa who popped their way to a massive 48 points to top the all time archery league table. Go girls !
Lots of very best wishes from all the MCF team
