Château Guedelon
A visit to Guedelon is scheduled as a whole day activity since it is a truly unique experience and requires time to fully engage with. Deep in woodland, about an hour and a half from Meluzien, slightly less from Lac Sauvin, a group of archeologists and enthusiasts are building a castle, from scratch, using only 13th century techniques.
Our visit starts with a tour of the site and a description of the methods used in the design and development of the project. After a picnic lunch everyone has the opportunity to explore the inside of the castle and visit workshops that show all the different elements of life in the middle ages. There is an additional option to include a sculpture workshop as an afternoon activity.
This is a fantastic opportunity to experience day to day life in France during the middle ages. For more information, please refer to their comprehensive website – www.guedelon.fr.
This excursion does incur an additional cost dependent on group numbers.
