A visit to Guedelon is scheduled for a whole day activity since it is a truly unique experience. Deep in woodland, about an hour and a half from Meluzien slightly less from Lac Sauvin, a group of archeologists and enthusiasts are building a castle using 13th century techniques. Our visit starts with a tour of the site and a description of the methods used in the design and development of the project. After a picnic lunch everyone has the opportunity to explore the inside of the castle and visit workshops that show all the different elements of life in the middle ages. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience day to day life in France during the middle ages. For more information, please refer to their website – www.guedelon.fr.
